Who runs this
A small team, on purpose
One maintainer with merge rights, a handful of moderators doing first-pass review and keeping the community running. Moderator seats rotate each semester and are filled from people who already contribute.

Fixed a 21-year-old bug in rsync
--backup --backup-dir --delete had been silently dropping empty directories since 2004. Traced the routing in delete_item(), fixed it with rmdir-first validation and Solaris EEXIST handling.
Traced 3,087 HTTP 500s to one lazy-load chain
Read 5,697 stack frames to find a SQLAlchemy lazy-load cascade, then fixed it with targeted eager loading and null guards.
Machine-readable JSON reporting
Added --report-format json with a versioned schema across 25 files, and corrected has_any_captions() for DVB and Teletext. Validated against 166 media files.
Stopped 49,086 test rows failing silently
One missing guard on an empty output path was quietly corrupting the whole test result set. Small diff, large blast radius.
